We offer a Multi-Course Prix-Fixe Set Menu every Friday and Saturday evening, featuring a carefully crafted and curated selection of our signature dishes and special wine-pairings. At Floodgates, we reward those who plan ahead. Our pricing adjusts based on how far in advance you book your table, ensuring the best value for early bookers. Booking Timeframe: The price per person for the Set Menu follows a tiered structure based on how far in advance you book. Reservations are £15 when booked 30 or more days in advance, £20 when booked 15–29 days in advance, £25 for bookings made 7–14 days in advance, and £30 when booked less than 7 days before the event. The same pricing applies to the optional Wine Flight, so the earlier you book, the better the value.

Please note all guests will arrive at 7pm, and the full set menu will be served simultaneously to everyone, creating a unique and communal dining experience. You’ll get to enjoy each course alongside fellow guests, making it a perfect opportunity to indulge in a variety of flavours and connect with others over a shared love of great food. You can easily make your reservations online as individuals, please just fill out the field that asks you the name of other people you are dining with, so we can ensure you are seated at the correct table.

he New Floodgates Brasserie at the Left Bank in Hereford is a Prix-Fixe Set-Menu Restaurant – Here’s Why it’s Great, How it Works, and All Your Questions Answered
Introduction
Earlier this Spring, The Left Bank Village unveiled a new restaurant on its ground floor, overlooking the River Wye, next to the iconic Old Bridge in the centre of the historic city of Hereford.
Rather than being completely new, The Floodgates Restaurant is better described, as making its return to the dining landscape in the city, as many remember when it was open as an extremely popular and much-loved restaurant 20 years ago.
Dutch supermarket businessman Albert Heijn founded the Left Bank Village complex in the 1990s. One part of his remarkable riverside venue that was most frequently visited and is most missed today was his Floodgates Restaurant known for its top-quality food, service, atmosphere and beautiful views of the river.
And now IT’S BACK! Fine dining has made its big return to the Left Bank with Grande Cuisine now being offered every Friday and Saturday evening, specialising in creative, local and seasonal dishes with an emphasis on meticulous preparation, elaborate presentation and sensational flavours.
A New Approach
The new Floodgates Brasserie will take a slightly different approach from the original, using a new model of restaurant, more often seen in the big cities and abroad, and less familiar in Hereford, offering a prix-fixe set menu every week. This dining-trend has become well-established in other places, and certainly looks set to stay, and now has come to Hereford.
How Does it Work?
A prix-fixe restaurant offers a pre-selected multi-course set menu that changes week on week. The overall price of the menu is the same for all diners, however, dynamic pricing is offered where the price of the set menu is less the further in advance you book. A vegan/gluten-free alternative menu is also offered every week.
Service of the set-menu commences at 7pm for all diners every Friday and Saturday evening, with dining finishing around 9pm, however guests are more than welcome in the Floodgates for casual pre-dinner drinks from 5pm, or after-dinner drinks later into the evening, perhaps out on our terrace with fire-pits and river views.
Pre-Paid Set Menus are actually Great…
Do you get a headache from all the choice on menus these days? Do you find yourself always choosing the same old dishes time and time again? Do you worry about remembering your reading glasses?
Set menus do away with all of these little problems, providing a more exciting, unpredictable dining experience giving you a taste of new things you might not have tried in a while, or ever tried!
Knowing the price of the menu in advance can also help with budgeting and give peace of mind knowing that everything has been paid for in advance. And you can avoid more headaches in the form of trying to ‘split the check’ at the end of the meal!
Our booking system enables you to purchase your ticket independently online from the rest of your group, but enter the name of another person at your table to ensure you are seated in the correct place, as we design the table plan each evening in advance.
The set menu changes every single week, so you it need not be a one-off visit, you can regularly return and receive a new experience each time.
Can we just Turn-up?
Like with any other restaurant, you can ofcourse walk in on the night in the hope of getting a table, but all we’d say is that booking in advance is the best way to guarantee you get a table and because it is a set menu served at set times, you’d just need to make sure you arrived in time to pay at the start and be seated for service at 7pm.

You have the option to upgrade your booking on our system to include specially selected wine-pairings which complement the overall flavour profile of the menu and consider the intensity and complexity of each course and the season.
